Supplier Carhartt Workwear (UPIC: haws) has announced a voluntary recall of its flame-resistant (FR) sweatshirts. Carhartt has not received any reports of injuries or product failures.

The Apex, North Carolina-based company says that test results indicate inconsistencies in the performance ratings of some FR garments, and they may not currently meet the requirements of NFPA 2112 and NFPA 70E. The standards, set by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), oversee protections from flash fire exposure and electrical hazards.

The affected garments are:

1.    FRK127–Crewneck Pull Over Sweatshirt

2.    FRK007–Heavyweight Zip Front Hooded Sweatshirt

3.    FRK006–Heavyweight Hooded Pullover Sweatshirt

4.    101951–Klondike Hooded Sweatshirt

5.    101702–Thermal Lined Sweatshirt

6.    101700–Striped Klondike Sweatshirt

7.    101247–Klondike Sweatshirt

8.    101203–Heavyweight Klondike Sweatshirt

9.    100647–Thermal Lined Full Zip Sweatshirt

Carhartt is recommending styles 101576 and 101577 as replacements for FRK006 and FRK007.
